About Jerky

It’s said that the word "jerky” is derived from the Quechua word (one of the many South American languages) ch'arki which means "dried, salted meat".  

Jerky is generally made with lean meat, that’s been trimmed of fat, and sliced into pieces. It’s then air-dried with salt and seasoning for preservation and flavor.

A nutritious and tasty snack, Beef Jerky has a long shelf-life and requires no refrigeration. It’s generally high in protein, low in fat, and is regarded as a healthier alternative to many regular snack options.
